Snitch

  Cheyenne Dempsey
Snitch written by Allison Van Diepen

A good girl gone bad! Julia fell head over heels for Eric. The first time she met him she was starstruck; she first met him in the principals office. He was new in the school and it was the first time she got in trouble. He asked her for her number and she was so excited and gave it to her. Then, everything came together after there first encounter. Allison Van Diepen's Snitch motivated me to read her other books with her very unique writing style and passion for writing.
Then, the theme of the book is to show that you can't always trust the people you think you know. In the end they either hurt you or they are not the person they tell you they are. The book shows a lot of things between the characters love, betrayal, and violence. The life lesson that the book illustrates is that you have to be careful in who you trust. Julia falls in love with Eric and at the end he disappears and his real name isn't even Eric. There are many lessons that Allison demonstrates in the novel.
The author's style is unique with the way she writes. She knows how to make you feel like you are apart of the novel or make it seem like it is real life. I love how the author shows that love isn't always what it seems it can go down hill real quick. I love that the book feels so realistic. I don't like the way the book ends because there is not a second part to the book because it left my mind wondering. The book has it's moments when it is funny, sad, or happy. Yes, it gives me a sense of place that it sets. The author's voice is just like talking to someone that you're close with. No, the book isn't unique or unusual than other books that I have read before.

Therefore, the author makes the people seem realistic with the way she describes them and the way that they act. She describes the characters by there features and how they act towards one another. I really like the characters in the book because it shows different sides of people. Since I like the characters it makes me like the book more than I usually would. Things that Eric has done to make me like his character is that once he tells Julia what happened he still tried to show her that he cares about her. Then, Julia she loves Eric no matter what the situation is and that she would be with him no matter what.

The setting is very similar to the real world because it's just like everyday situations. It's similar with the way she uses the setting such as, the school, all the houses, and even the hospital. The author makes you feel like you're apart of the setting it is like you're there with the characters and at the setting. I can picture every detail of this book if I had my eye's closed she made it very easy for you comprehend. The main places that the characters would be in would either be in the school or at Julia's house. It felt like I was there with the characters.

Furthermore, the plot of this novel is for the character, Eric to try and get the gangs and the leaders to get put away. The main thing wasn't for Julia to get hurt and she did but the job had to be done. There is only one main plot and I can't give it away. Once, I found out the plot it was very shocking and exciting when I found it out. I thought the story was going in a different direction until I got further into the story. The story would have to be read for yourself to have a better understanding of it.

Finally, I can't make any comparisons to other books because this is a very unique book and I haven't read anything like it. This book has some similarities but not many comparisons to other books. This novel can compare to current events by the way that Eric is being used in the novel. It's not like other issues not like the way the book is. No, this book doesn't connect with me on a personal level because none of it never happened to me. I would not want it happen to me or anyone else.

In conclusion, I really like this novel and I would want people that I know to read this book. This book is a very good book and grabs the readers interests. It is one of my favorite novels and I can keep reading it over and over without getting bored with it. I would want the reader to look at the book or actually read the book. It is something that grabs my interest and I wish the author would have made a part two of the book.
